This draft explains the information the current service needs to operate. Confirm the operator, retention periods, and legal basis with counsel before launch.

Information used by the service

  • Account information handled by Supabase Auth, including your email address and, if you choose Google sign-in, information Google provides to identify your account.
  • Your public display name, comments, map contributions, and version history. Public maps and their comments can be read by anyone.
  • A private sign-up indicator and the date your account accepted the Terms of Service. The timestamp is kept in an account-linked record and is not added to your public profile.
  • Technical request and error information processed by Cloudflare and Supabase. Sentry may receive diagnostic events when error reporting is configured.

Privacy-friendly analytics

We collect minimal, privacy-friendly analytics to understand which features are used and how the service performs. We do not use third-party tracking scripts, cookies, or persistent device fingerprinting. We do not track individuals across websites.

The analytics are daily totals only. Each page view or action adds one to a count for the day, such as "map page views" or "published edits". Map addresses are reduced to a general route, so which map you opened is not stored. We do not store your account, IP address, device, or individual events. We honor Global Privacy Control (GPC) and Do Not Track (DNT) browser signals: when enabled, nothing is sent or counted.

Why and where information is used

The service uses this information to authenticate accounts, show map authorship and discussions, preserve map history, prevent abuse, and diagnose reliability problems. The site owner can also open a private statistics page that lists accounts (name, email, sign-up date, last sign-in) with counts of the maps, changes and comments each person made, and totals of invites and Ask requests. We do not record how long you spend in the app or which pages you browse. Cloud providers process information to host the app, database, map snapshots, and error reporting.

Public information and retention

Map content, comments, display names, and version history may be publicly visible. A map's reuse licence applies to its content. Versioned history may preserve earlier published content. The acceptance timestamp is restricted to its account and authorized service operations.
